From Paris, With Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

I can't think of a better day to share my trip to Paris with you than Valentine's Day.  It feels like the perfect opportunity to reminisce on all of our travels throughout the "City of Love."

To be honest, traveling to France wasn’t exactly on my calendar.

It wasn't until Annie committed to the trip that I began day dreaming about celebrating our birthdays together with our design community in the heart of Paris -- I had to agree it was a fabulous idea.

Then our hubbies Doug and Ryan agreed to come and it was on the books!

It was the most wonderful time away.

We had a fabulous time with our fellow Chicago designer friends, James Dolenc and Thomas Riker, pictured here with our wonderful host, Peter Julian of Donghia, and the Elitis team.

We loved celebrating our birthdays when our friend Peter, of Donghia, coordinated a lovely evening on a house boat overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

Our hotel, Relais Christine, embraced classicism and color in such a beautiful way.  The invigorating and bold color scheme was executed so well, that it felt like a breath of fresh air every time I stepped inside.

PARIS DECO OFF + MAISON et OBJET

It's always been on my list to attend Maison et Objet & Paris Deco Off, so I was thrilled when it worked out to attend both shows on this trip!

For those of you who may not be familiar, Paris Deco Off is an annual deign event where 100+ prestigious brands open their showroom doors to present new lines, archived lines, and everything in between.  It's an opportunity to discover future trends while getting a sneak peek of the upcoming collections from the Interior Design industry's leaders.

Maison et Objet, on the other hand, is a bi-annual event reserved specifically for Interior Design trade professionals.  This event highlights the work of incredibly talented and innovative manufacturers and artists that lead our industry.

See below for a few of my favorite moments from both Paris Deco Off and Maison et Objet!

A TRIP TO REMEMBER

As you can tell, this trip filled my every bucket:  Cultural influence, phenomenal food, design inspiration, total bonding with our Chicago design community, birthday celebrations, quality time away from the kiddos, and more...
